2025 CPTSC Distinguished Service Award Winner: Dr. Joanna Schreiber

We are excited to announce this year’s CPTSC Distinguished Service Award winner: Dr. Joanna Schreiber!

Joanna Schreiber, Georgia Southern University

Dr. Joanna Schreiber is associate professor of Technical and Professional Communication at Georgia Southern University. Dr. Schreiber has served in various capacities during her tenure with CPTSC, including as Treasurer (two terms) and co-chair of the CPTSC Grants Committee. Her research interests include trends in professional and technical editing, communication practices related project management and performance management, and related teaching practices. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in professional and technical editing, technical communication, business writing, plain language, user experience, and information design.

Among the most prestigious recognitions awarded by CPTSC, the Distinguished Service Award (DSA) is bestowed upon individuals who have made significant contributions to CPTSC or to programming in technical, professional, or scientific communication. View past recipients of the DSA here.

The 2025 DSA Committee is made up of Xiaoli Li, Lee-Ann Breuch, Chalice Randazzo, and Tharon Howard. 

Dr. Schreiber will be given an award plaque and recognized with excerpts from her nominators’ letters during the award ceremony at the CPTSC annual conference in Lubbock on October 23.
