[CPTSC-L] Faculty Search for Assistant Professor in Writing, Rhetoric, and Information Design: Writing Program Administrator

The Position: Housed in the School of Communication at the University of
Central Arkansas, the Writing, Rhetoric, and Information Design Program
seeks candidates for a 10-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position
(beginning August 1, 2025) to coordinate our First-Year Writing program.
Teaching load is 4/4 (12 hours per semester) with 2/2 reassigned for
writing program administration. Applicants should have a background in
Rhetoric and Composition, Writing Studies, Technical and Professional
Writing, or a closely related field and experience teaching college
writing. Prior experience in writing program administration is highly
valued. In addition to administering the First-Year Writing program, duties
include teaching composition and courses in the Writing, Rhetoric, and
Information Design major.

Required Qualifications and/or Experience: PhD in Rhetoric and Composition,
Writing Studies, Technical and Professional Writing, or a closely related
field. Experience teaching college writing and evidence of excellence in
teaching required. Candidates must be willing to participate in local,
regional, and national professional development and have a genuine interest
in general education instruction, assessment, and program initiatives.

Preferred Education and/or Experience: Preferred applicants will have
experience working in writing program administration and advancing
inclusive pedagogies that meet the educational aspirations of a diverse
student body. Applicants will also have a clear research agenda.

More About the Writing, Rhetoric, and Information Design Program and the
University of Central Arkansas: The Writing, Rhetoric, and Information
Design (WRID) program at UCA offers two distinct tracks: Writing Studies
and Technical and Professional Writing. The Writing Studies track focuses
